No title is good enough (part 2)

After the first article you would probably expect me to write about the negative side of our society. How it's unfair, money centered, selfish and egoisitic. No way!
Western society is awesome!

Just a note, I am NOT going to talk about places like North Korea,  most of Africa or South America. I am going to talk about (Western) Europe and North America.
What I'm going to talk about is the beauty of your society, about how it fills everyone's needs and how it provides everything people desire.
Sarcasm? Nope!
I'm dead serious about all this!

In the previous article I explained that people need and want to be controlled,  because they're too narrow minded to think on their own, and because this regime will work better for the whole humanity.
The beauty of this society is that it's doing the job very well.
It's not about brainwashing, censorship and strict rules as in North Korea. In the last few years thanks to the internet everyone can have free access to pretty much all the information around the world.
The thing is: people don't want to learn other views. They have their own view on the world (no matter what it is), and if they look for information they only accept the ones that will confirm their view (I think this should be pretty obvious, but it is a real thing and it's called "confirmation bias", look it up if you don't know or don't agree)
So, even though people say that we are all brainwashed by the government or the society, it's not true. Either we are all (!) brainwashed completely, so much we can't even think about it (doubt that, but obviously you never know) or we are free as much as we want. Another way to say it: you don't have a free will, but you can have it if you realize what's happening.

The beauty of this system is that it doesn't tell anyone how they should live.  This is the world, deal with it. No one is really telling people what to do.
It's not about forcing people, because while we don't have absolute freedom, we can do pretty much anything we want.
The only thing we're bombarded with, is the idea of how other people live. And that's the greatest idea ever!

I'm not sure how should I write all this, so I'll just state the reasons why I have this view on the world.

Capitalism (money)

The most beautiful thing about the world is money. I love money, not because of the money itself, but because of the idea and because of what they represent.

You can't do much without it. The only thing is to live outside the society. Either on the street, where you will still need some money, or in the wilderness where you might be able to live fully without it.

The beauty of money lies in several things:

Since everyone needs it, everyone has to make it. We all have to work (steal? Cheat?) to get it and we need it for pretty much everything. Just this shows how we all are controlled by it. We all live in fear of being without money, we all dream of having more, and we are all fuelled by the need or desire of it.
The fact that we can't live without is a great exhibit of the need of people be controlled. There has to be something, and money is doing a great job with that.
Why? Because living without money seems like way to hard to do, and only a few people are willing to do it. The system has been here for so long we can't live without it, and no one can know what would it be to live without money.
But the dependece on money is not the dangerous thing on its own, but I'll get to that later

Another lovely thing about money is that it's a system that works. It's been working for a long time now, and even though we might get a war and anarchy, and we may even start again, I highly doubt we will use system that doesn't require money.
They've always been here, and they'll be here definitely for the rest of our lifes.

Consumerism

I have no idea how it happened, but it's way too funny. Buying unhealthy, overpriced stuff for... Hold on! For what exactly?

"We buy things we don't need with money we don't have to impress people we don't like"
-Dave Ramsey

This is so true, because we buy overpriced (brand) clothes even though we have full closets of clothing. We do it without thinking and automatically. Not because of the goods, not because we need it and sometimes not even to impress someone, but just for the shopping. We buy things because we want to buy things. And we do it with money we don't have.
We buy new iphones right after release of a new type even though the old one is just a bit worse. And what's most important, still functional with all the things we might need. We buy it just because it's new.
We want big houses and big cars because we think it will make us happy and respected. And it might! But only for a few weeks.

Not many people can save money. Yet almost everyone wants to travel. It's interesting to hear people saying: "I want to go to Canada, because it has such a beautiful nature, but I just can't save. I'm not good at it." And instead of making a plan and trying to save a bit they go and buy new brand clothes, new phone, or they just go to a pub and they get drunk (to forget their miserable lifes?).

Basically, we buy things we don't need to feel better (at least temporarily), or to impress others. We buy things without asking if we need it, without questioning where does it come from, how it's made, and what consequences it has. We buy things because we think it's things that will make us happy.

And isn't that beautiful?
It certainly is!
I think this is incredible way of controlling people. I don't know how it happened, and I'm not much into conspiracy theories to say it was all planned decades (hundreds of years?) ago by Illuminati. I think it just happened by coincidence and luck.
Anyway, it's really simple and nice way to distract people, and a way to control their needs through advertising.

Media

Advertising and commercials have a huge influence, but the main purpose of the media is to educate and inform you.
Before the internet you had only limited choices. There weren't that many options of getting information from the world, and the few choices were not only similar, but also controlled. The newspapers, radio and television choose the information you will get. You won't be able to affect what you'll see in there. You'll only get the information someone decided to give you. I wrote article related to the topic, feel free to read as well..
With the internet it's way easier, because we all can get information about any topic, any country in a few seconds. Which is great, but there are problems.

First one is that there's not that many people who use internet to get a good idea of the world. Not many people watch the news on the internet, and I doubt  that most of the people who do always check the sources and confirm if the message is valid.

Second is the fact that people ignore what opposes their ideas and their views. We all search the news that confirm our opinions and we ignore or devalue the ones that we don't agree with. We don't read or watch the news to get a objective view on the world, but only to confirm our own.
So even if everyone searched for news with good sources, and even searched for other views on the topic, they would still had the same opinion as before. Confirmation bias again.

Yet this affection doesn't apply only for the news. It also applies for the movies, TV shows and so on.
The TV especially is a powerful tool, because it gives us constant insight into other people's live. But these people are not real, they're actors, hosts and guests. The news should give us the information about the reality. The rest of the TV is here to show us unreal.
The movies distract us from the reality and we accept it. We accept the movies as real, and gain from them opinions on gender, politics, drugs, crime without even realizing it.
TV gives us rich, famous and succesful people who live their "American dream" and these people tell us how great it is. And we dream. We dream of being famous, of having money and of being happy.
This is all we do. We dream! We keep on dreaming, keep on waiting for our time while our time is passing by. We get distracted by watching the rich and famous and we don't realize we have no idea if they're happy. We have no idea how they became that way and if their happiness is real. We think that having money solves everything, but is it true? And is it true for everyone?

Now it looks like I'm not happy with this world, like I don't like the way it works. That's far from being the truth. I love it for one simple reason. It gives you exactly what you deserve.
At this point most people will object that the world is unfair and some people are born with money while some are born poor. True that, but that doesn't say anything about their happiness. It shows how much money they have and that's it. Again I repeat that I'm talking about the Western civilization. Partially because in other parts of the world it's not exactly the same, and even though you still get what you deserve, it's less easier to do what you want in the West. Also, because I have no or little idea how's living in Africa or Asia.
Anyway, the point is that you really get what you deserve, and it doesn't make much of a difference if you are poor, and it's harder for you to make more money, to travel or even to get better education or health care.
It makes no difference because no one is stopping you to make more money, and there are infinite oportunities to do it. All you need is stop being lazy and try.
It makes no difference because you have no idea what the rich people are going through. They might be rich, educated and healthy, but that doesn't say anything about their happiness. The rich people are generally presented as happy, but is it true? How the hell do you know?

And even if they were, how do you know how hard it was for them to get there? How do you know how much effort they put, so they can now enjoy life and be happy?

All I try to say is that life is fair even though it doesn't look like it. Why? Simply because you have no idea how other people live, and even if you knew exactly how someone lives (which seems almost impossible), you have no idea what the people think or what they feel. You don't know what they're going through or went through. All you see is that one particular thing you're focused on. You see someone making millions doing movies and you think it's eass and you could do it too.

Life in western world is not fair in the beginning, but at the end of our lives I think it pretty much evens out. We all get what we deserve. Sure, some people are born rich and they have conctacts, good education and much easier life, especially at first, but the poor people are not opressed. There are opportunities for everyone. We all can get education, in Europe mostly for free, in US in exchange for a huge debt, but if you're smart, motivated, willing to work hard you can easily pay for your debts.
Luck plays a big role, but we are all in control of our lives for the most part.
And that's why I love living here.
We are free as much as we want, but most people have no idea and they will always look for excuses. The people who know this are the people who make this world better. Leaders, scientists, visionairists and so on. These people are smart, which means they know what they want, and they will find a way to get it, no matter what the situation is. The smart people, the people who push humans further don't care about opinions of others, because they know they're right. They don't care that their situation is bad, because they know it's up to them to make it better.

Seriously, think about how great it is. The masses are controlled, because they created false restrictions on themselves, while still believing they are free.
I'm serious, there are only few types of people.
1. People who believe they're free and they can do whatever they want, but they are just lazy to do it.
2. People who believe they're not free and therefore are doomed to achieve what they want.
3. People who believe they're free, but at the same time they say that most other people have it easier and even if they tried they can't make it for certain reasons.
The third group is surprisingly large...
4. People who don't care about  their current situation, who don't care about others, who don't care about feeling free. They just do! They do what they want, because they know that you're free as much as you feel, and you know that there are always options.

The funny thing about the first three groups of people is the fact that they did it to themselves. They limited themselves by thinking they can't do something, because they don't have money, becaue of worrying what would others think of them, because it's not profitable to follow their dream, because they're not good enough and so on.
This is evolution and survival of the fittest in practice!
It's just a bit sad that we don't puruse it far enough. My proposition is to allow to have children only for people who are happy. I don't care if you're rich bussinessman, famous actor, mad scientist or a builder, but if you're happy you should be allowed to have children, because apparently you chose your life well. We're all different, we all want different things, but we shouldn't allow to let people who are unhappy to have children. You could be stupid by the definiton I posted in the first part (even though I think not many people would be), because it makes no difference how smart, rich or pretty you are. What matter is your success, and by that I don't mean success the way it's viewed these days (=being rich and famous), but the real succes - your happines. Your view on your life and the choices you made.
This is real succes and this what makes the western society so great, because at the end we are as happy as we made ourselves. We can complain about the unfairness that certainly is here, we can do something about it or we can just accept it and move on. We can complain we are not free or we can simply take the freedom we have and use it to make our lifes better.
And one of the things that makes this world even better is the internet, because it opens so many possibilities. Now we all can see that there millions of people who are as scared as we are. We can see all the people who achieved what we want and we can learn from them. We can educate ourselves in anything we want within few clicks.
There are many things wrong with this world, so many that it could make you angry and desperate. On the other hand this world is beautiful and great. There are so many things we can do, see and learn. There are unlimited opportunities for everyone.
So to all the people who are not happy and who complain I say: Enjoy!
I'm not going to say "you deserve it" even though you do. I won't say "fuck you", because you're making yourself miserable enough.  I won't say anything except "enjoy", because I honestly hope that this complaining makes you happy, and you're just not wasting your time looking for excuses.
